OUTLAW COUNTRY - The Music of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Hank Williams Jr.

Country music in the 1960’s was getting swept up in what became known as the “Nashville Sound”- lush orchestrations with melodic strings and horn sections. There was one group of musicians who wanted nothing to do with that- and they became known as “Outlaws” for playing their music their way. This concert event salutes country legends like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson who relied on their traditional, stripped-down, honky-tonk sound. These were the bad boys of country music, the guitar-slingers of "Outlaw Country."
